Moriarty Megaways Slot
Drawing inspiration from the literary works of Arthur Conan Doyle, the Moriarty Megaways slot comes from production studio iSoftBet and was launched back in April 2021. As one of the development team’s standout titles that uses the Megaways engine, the gameplay is dynamic, featuring many popular mechanics from other online slots with the same changing playgrid system. From cascading reels and mystery symbols to additional progress meters in the main free spins round, all of these creative elements give the Moriarty Megaways slot a distinct identity, along with its shadowy, Victorian-style imagery.
Moriarty Megaways Game Design
The playtable in the Moriarty Megaways slot sits against a backdrop of dark slate, though unlike many standard online casino games, the layout here doesn't stay static. Instead, the structure reshapes itself with every spin, as each of the six reels can display anywhere from 2 to 7 symbol rows. In turn, this creates a shifting setup capable of generating up to 117,649 paylines, and sitting above the main reels is an extra row containing four additional symbol slots, aligned centrally over the grid.
Moriarty Megaways Mechanics
To the right of the Moriarty Megaways slot sits the bronze-toned logo, while a mechanical counter on the opposite side of the screen keeps track of exactly how many paylines are active during any given spin. The setting itself depicts a gritty, industrial Victorian cityscape, with gas lamps casting a dim glow over cobbled streets below. A dense layer of fog rolls through the narrow alleyways that fill the backdrop, giving the Moriarty Megaways slot a tone somewhat reminiscent of titles like Blood Suckers and its sequel Blood Suckers Megaways. .
Much like the majority of NJ casino titles from iSoftBet today, the Moriarty Megaways slot runs the same across smartphones, tablets, and computers. Provided there's an internet connection, both the atmospheric Victorian visuals and the dynamic gameplay remain fully intact, all thanks to the HTML5 software that this game is built upon.
Moriarty Megaways Bonus Features
The constantly changing layout of the Moriarty Megaways slot is just one of its bonuses, with there also being a series of other nuanced mechanics that could potentially trigger and bring new elements to the gameplay.
Cascading Reels
The first mechanic that is worth highlighting in the Moriarty Megaways slot is the cascading reels system. Should a combination potentially form across the ever-shifting reels, those symbols clear from the grid, with fresh symbols dropping in from above to refill the empty spaces that are left behind, just like in Twin Spin Megaways.
Wild Symbols
The extra row positioned above the main reels is known as the Top Tracker. The golden pocket watch wild symbols can only land randomly within this section, and if they do, they're able to substitute for any base game symbol on the changing Moriarty Megaways playtable.
Mystery Symbols
Newspaper symbols work a little differently compared to these golden pocket watch wilds. Should they land across the Moriarty Megaways playgrid, every instance of them could transform into a single matching base symbol once the reels stop spinning.
Moriarty Megaways Free Spins
If three golden plaque scatters land simultaneously, this might trigger 15 free spins in the Moriarty Megaways slot. This is where Sherlock and Dr Watson symbols are introduced to the reels, collected via dedicated meters positioned alongside the playtable. Gathering three Sherlock symbols may trigger a modified spin where the reels expand to their full 6x7 size with all 117,649 paylines active. Alternatively, collecting three Dr Watson symbols could add at least six newspaper mystery symbols onto the playgrid at random.

Everything considered, the Moriarty Megaways slot does an impressive job honoring its literary source material, blending classic detective imagery and mysterious, atmospheric visuals with a modern set of gameplay mechanics.
If you enjoy the shifting reel structure in Moriarty Megaways, titles like Big Bucks Bandit Megaways and Wealth of Wonderland Megaways both share this same dynamic playgrid engine.
