Diamond Fruit Slot
Big Time Gaming opts for a more back-to-basics theme in the Diamond Fruit slot, a fruit machine-inspired title that they introduced to the iGaming world in December 2021. Even with its visuals being similar to many retro NJ slots today, it is its gameplay that is more unique and contemporary. By adding in a cluster pays engine, multipliers, mega symbols, and free spin rounds, there are several modern components that help define this popular Diamond Fruit slot.
Diamond Fruit Game Design
A golden frame surrounds the central playtable in the Diamond Fruit slot, with a multicolored lined pattern emanating from behind. This adds pops of blue, green, yellow, red, and purple across the playscreen, creating a color palette similar to titles like Dazzle Me and Wheel of Fortune Megaways. At the same time, some additional sparkle effects have been included by Big Time Gaming, whilst the jewel-backed Diamond Fruit slot logo sits to the right side of the screen.
Diamond Fruit Mechanics
Instead of opting for a single-reel playtable like many classical titles, the Diamond Fruit slot opts for a 5x5 layout that is the same size as those found in Slingo games. Due to there being some mega symbol mechanics, something that we will break down later, though, this may give the impression that the reels change in size during gameplay. At the same time, Big Time Gaming have replaced standard paylines with a cluster pays system, meaning combinations could potentially form if 5+ matching symbols land next to each other, either horizontally or vertically.
Making use of the same HTML5 framework as many PlayStar Casino games, this means the Diamond Fruit slot is compatible with tablets, laptops, smartphones, and desktop PCs. By connecting one of these device options to the internet, the supporting software automatically adjusts the visuals and gameplay to different screen dimensions, without losing any quality in the process.
Diamond Fruit Bonus Features
To differentiate the Diamond Fruit slot further from other titles with fruit machine-style concepts, the development studio at Big Time Gaming has added several modern bonus features,
Reactions Mechanic
Just like titles such as Almighty Buffalo Reloaded, there is a cascading mechanic in the Diamond Fruit slot referred to as ‘Reactions’. If a cluster of 5+ matching symbols randomly appears on the playgrid, these are removed from view before being replaced by new icons that fall onto the playtable from above to fill out the layout again.
Megaclusters Feature
On any random spin in the Diamond Fruit slot, there is a chance for mega symbols to land. They can either appear 2x2 or 3x3 in size, taking up 4 and 9 sections on the playgrid, respectively, something which is down to the Megaclusters feature that Big Time Gaming created.
Wild Symbols
As is standard for wild symbols today, the multicolored orbs in the Diamond Fruit slot could take the place of other base game symbols in clusters due to their substituting characteristics. However, if 3 reactions occur in the same spin, this might trigger the Wild Cannon mechanic, which adds between 5 and 15 wilds to the playgrid randomly.
Diamond Fruit Free Spins
In the case that 8 reactions occur in the same base game spin, this could trigger the Diamond Fruit free spins round. In this, any cascades that occur may increase a persistent multiplier by +1x each time. If 8 or more consecutive reactions occur again in this bonus round, the free spins feature might also be retriggered.

By taking a thematic concept that is more old-school in nature and implementing a handful of dynamic gameplay mechanics and bonuses, the Diamond Fruit slot is a distinct addition to the fruit machine-inspired genre of games.
The Diamond Fruit slot is just one release with such retro imagery; however, as titles such as Blazin Hot 7s Big Bonus and Golden Winner feature similar visual elements.
